Working with a TM and Tracked Changes

When you have tracked changes in your document, performing a lookup in a TM, updating a TM or applying results from a TM work in the following ways:

TM Lookups and Applying TM Matches
When you have tracked changes in the source, a lookup (during interactive translation in the Editor or pre-translation) is first made in the TM with tracked changes rejected.
·         If an exact match (100%) is found for the rejected version of the segment, it applies the translation with the following icon in the segment status column and that status of the translation is set to Draft. A second lookup is then performed with the tracked changes accepted and the results are displayed in the Translation Results window. This gives you maximum leverage for segments that contain tracked changes.
·         If no exact match is found with the tracked changes rejected, it applies the translation from the lookup that was performed with tracked changes accepted.
Applying TM Matches with Track Changes Enabled
If you have Track Changes enabled, it is automatically turned off when the TM match is applied. This allows you to leverage the translation previously used and then use tracked changes to indicate where the translation has changed. You can change this setting in the Options dialog box under Editor > Automation.
TM Updates
Segments containing tracked changes in the source and/or target can be confirmed. When you confirm a segment with tracked changes, the TM is updated with all changes accepted.
