About a Project Workflow for a Regulated Industry

Project Workflow Scenario
Assume you are a project manager for localization. You receive an assignment to localize several MS Word .docx files that contain information about the use of certain medications. Previous versions of these documents were translated last year. The MS Word .docx files contain tracked changes to indicate what updates need to be made for the current project.

You have been provided with the translated SDL XLIFF files from the previous project and the TM.
Follow the workflow for project translation in a regulated industry to send the documents for translation and review.
Why Use this Workflow?
Creating a project allows you to manage multiple files and distribute them to other team members for translation. It also allows you to leverage translations from previous projects by:
·         Applying PerfectMatch which transfers translations from the previously translated bilingual documents and applies them to the new project files. This automatically translates any segments that have not changed since the previous project. Because the PerfectMatch segment matching process includes a check for context and segmentation, PerfectMatch units typically need no further translation or editing during translation.
·         Any translations that have changed since the previous project will then be pre-translated which applies translations from the TM.
·         During translation you then work interactively with the TM to translate the document.

This workflow also indicates what settings you need to specify and the practices that you need to follow to ensure that changes to translations are tightly controlled.
