Tracked changes in the original source document are displayed in
the source segments when the file is opened for translation in Studio. These
tracked changes are read-only and cannot be accepted or rejected in Studio. In
addition, if any further changes are made to the source in Studio, these
changes cannot be tracked.
NOTE
|
Studio only supports working with tracked
changes in the source for Microsoft Word 2007-2013 documents (.docx). To view
source tracked changes in Studio, change the Track changes extraction mode
setting to Display pending changes in the file type settings for Word 2007-2013 Settings.

Regulated Industries
This is useful for regulated industries to ensure that tracked
changes in the source are reflected in the target as accurately as possible. To
do this, turn on Track Changes when making the edits to the target translation.
This ensures that the tracked changes directly map to the source tracked
changes.
Inspecting Tracked
Changes Before Starting Work
This is useful if you are a translator and you want to asses the
quantity of tracked changes to find out what has changed before starting work
on the translation. To do this, use a display filter in the Editor and choose
to only display the segments that contain tracked changes in source.
Should the File be
Translated As Is
This is useful if you are a translator or CAT specialist and you
want to determine if a file containing tracked changes should be:
·
Translated as is in Studio with tracked changes in the source. You
might want to do this if the file has only very few tracked changes.
·
Opened in Word beforehand where you can accept the changes in the
source before opening it in Studio to translate. You might want to do this if
the file has too many tracked changes to be useful for translation.
