If you sent your files for external review using the Export for
External Review batch task, you can import the content of the bilingual
review documents back into Studio. This import updates the target segments in
the *.sdlxliff project file with any edits, tracked changes, reviewed statuses
and comments.
NOTE
|
Translations in the *.sdlxliff project file
are not updated with the new reviewed content if the segment has changed
after you exported it for review, is locked or has a status of Signed off.
|
1.
In the Projects view, right-click on the project and select
Batch Tasks > Update from External Review.
To quickly update the *.sdlxliff project file
when you have the document open in the Editor view, use the commands
from the File Actions group menu on the Review tab.
|
2.
On the Batch Tasks page of the Batch Processing
wizard, click Next.
3.
On the Files page, select the project files that you want
to update and click Next.
4.
On the Update from an External Review Document page, select
the bilingual review documents (filename.review.docx) to use to update your project files:
·
If the bilingual review document file name has not been changed
and the folder structure is the same, you can automatically match the SDL
project file with its corresponding bilingual review document. This is useful
if you have a more than one bilingual review document that you need to select:
o
Click Add and select Review Documents from Folder.
o
From the Files of type drop-down list, select Bilingual Review Files (*.review.docx.)
o
Browse to the External Review folder, select it and then
click OK. A message is displayed indicating how many files have been
added.
·
You can individually add each bilingual review document. This is
useful if you only have one document to select. You may also need to do this if
you changed the file names or the file structure within the External Review
folder.
o
Select the target language for which you want to add the bilingual
review document.
o
Select the project file under the Project File column for
which you want to add the bilingual review document, click Add and then
select Specific Review Document.
o
From the Files of type drop-down list, select Bilingual
Review Files (*.review.docx), then select the
document and click Open.
5.
Under Update Options:
·
Select the status to give the updated translations in Studio. By
default, it automatically changes the status to Translation Rejected.
·
To make a backup of your SDL XLIFF project file incase you accidentally
overwrite content that you want to keep, select Back up project files before
update. If you are working with a GroupShare project, a backup is
automatically made on GroupShare.
6.
Click Finish to update your project files with the content
from the reviewed documents.
7.
When the task is completed, click Close to exit the Batch
Processing wizard.
Your SDL XLIFF document has now been updated.
NOTE
|
If you accidentally overwrite any content in
the *.sdlxliff file when you import the updates and you made a backup during
the update, you can revert to the previous project file using the backup.
To do this, open the folder where your
*.sdlxliff file is stored, delete the newly updated project file filename.sdlxliff and change the
extension of the filename.backup file from .backup to .sdlxliff.
If you are working with a GroupShare project,
you can revert to the backup made on GroupShare by downloading the specific
version and then replacing the current file on GroupShare with that version.
