How to Send Files for External Review in Word

For reviewers who do not have Studio installed, you can export the .*sdlxliff file to a bilingual review document format (.review.docx) which can be opened in Microsoft Word. The reviewed document can then be imported back into Studio and the *.sdlxliff updated with edits, tracked changes, reviewed statuses and comments.
NOTE
The bilingual review document contains all of the information from the *.sdlxliff project file apart from comments that are file-based (segment-based and selected-text comments are still included).
1.     In the Projects view, right-click on the project and select Batch Tasks > Export for External Review.

To quickly export one document for review when in the Editor view, use the commands from the File Actions group menu on the Review tab.
2.     Click Next on the Batch Tasks page of the Batch Processing wizard.
3.     On the Files page, select the files that you want to send for review and click Next.
4.     On the Settings page, select Language Pairs > All Language Pairs > Batch Processing > Export for External Review from the navigation tree.
5.     In the Location box on the right, modify where you want the exported files to be located. By default, they are exported to an External Review folder within the project folder structure. This folder contains separate subfolders for each target language.
6.     Select how the translated content will appear in the exported document:
·         In the Layout type box, select side-by-side to view your source and target segments side-by-side or select top-down to view source segments above their corresponding target segments.
·         In the Segment Match Highlighting Colors section, modify the colors used to indicate the different type of matches from the translation memory.
7.     Click Finish.
8.     When the wizard is finished generating the files, click Close.
9.     A prompt is displayed asking if you want to open the folder containing the exported documents. Click Yes. The External Review folder is opened and the documents (.review.docx) are located within the target language subfolders.
10.  Send the files to the external reviewer using an agreed upon method. For example, by email or by placing the files on a FTP site.
