Any file that is part of a project is known as a project file. You
add files to a project when you create the project. You can also add files to
an existing project.
Adding Project Files
to an Existing Project
If you add files for translation to an existing project, you have
to prepare the files for translation. For more details about preparing files,
see Batch Task Sequence
Descriptions.
(Preparation is performed automatically for files that are added by the New
Project wizard).
You can add files to a project individually or you can add a
folder hierarchy. When you add a folder, all of the files in the selected
folder structure are added to the project and the folder structure is
replicated in each of the project target language folders. When the project
*.sdlxliff files are created, they are placed in the appropriate target
language folder.
If the project files are not currently in a folder structure, you
can create a folder structure manually and add the files to it.
NOTE
|
Files cannot be moved once they have been
added to a folder. If you add a file to the wrong folder, delete it and then
add it to the correct folder.

File Types
File type settings control the way that SDL Trados Studio prepares
files of each file type for translation.
